Green Itinerary

Green Itinenrary

30' Museum Simple Path School Groups

The Green Itinerary covers a tour that focuses more on the museum area where the Cathedral’s precious treasure trove is kept. Your visit will start in the Sacristy and will then carry on to the Chapter Room where over one hundred liturgical artifacts dating from the 12th to the 19th centuries are housed, lose yourself in the stunning collection of intricately worked silver that showcases the ancient techniques of craftmanship which have now, sadly, disappeared. From here, you will head towards Sansoni’s majestic Hall with its frescoed ceilings and the Bishop’s Chapel. Your visit will end with the Canons’ Cloister, an incomparable architectural gem where you will experience the sensation of time having stood still. Are you ready to embark on this magical experience? The duration of the tour is 30 minutes.

  • You should wear appropriate clothing.
  • The Sacristy cannot be visited when Mass is being celebrated.

“Magnificent Cathedral in Unique Setting.
The Norman Cathedral at Cefalu (the equivalent of the more famous Monreale Cathedral) houses a masterpiece of mosaic work set beneath the giant “roccia” (rock) looming over Cefalu. For a modest fee one can explore not only the nave, but the cloisters, museum and tower offering a magnificent view of the town.”

Un posto magico, assolutamente da visitare, anche le torri se pur a pagamento meritano l’attenzione e la spesa... contenti e soddisfatti della visita.”
